Greetings, I installed a test setup of Dynamics SL 2015 with SQL Server 2012, Web Services, and Web Apps all on the same Windows Server 2008 R2 computer. I used our existing Dynamics SL 2011 FP1 databases and updated them using Database Maintenance.

I am at the point where I can log into Web Apps but each account I try returns the error "10272 - SL User [username] should be associated with one Employee."

I have tried the solutions in the following posts but I still get the error:

I haven't installed CU1 yet either.

Any other ideas?

Hello Andrew

You could use PSTools to either cahnge a Vendor id or to combine two vendor number into one vendor.

SL - FED9 Calculation not working for one employee

Multiple employees have the FED9 calculation taken correctly.  I have one employee who this pay period is exceeding the $200,000 limit for the first time and the FED9 does not calculate anything.  I have checked all settings against the most recent update from Microsoft and I already have employees who have FED9 taken.  What could I be missing?

Andrew,

You really can't easily change the SL userid as this is the key field for the table.  You have these options:

1. Assign the new AD account to the old SL ID.

2. Create a new SL account and assign it to the new AD. Give the new account the same groups as the original account.

Hi,

We have a SL user whom fortunately got married and changed his Last name(unfortunately), IT department instead of amending AD account have created a brand new account.

Now I have  somehow to re-link old SL user-id to a newly created AD Account, and change SL user ID to reflect new last name, and of course amend old historical records to a new user id.

Depend on your business requirement to setup non-stock item or stock item. You said that you don't care about quantity onhand much, I think you should keep using non-stock item. I don't know why you have to use drop ship PO, you can use standard SO as normal. If you change to stock item you have to manage cost of good, quantity onhand, availalbe.... and if you allow to issue negative quantity you have to face with some trouble if your cost of good change.

We order 90% of goods directly to a project, we track very little inventory on hand. When a project is created, we issue a PO for all goods related to that project.

We originally setup most items as non-stock. But this forces us to use drop ship PO's. We would prefer to use a regular order to increase controls around the receiving process. For this reason we are considering adjusting all of our inventory to stock items instead of non stock.

Prior to this change though, what benefits might we be losing? I can't think of any, and reviewed several help screens and have not found anything impactful. Want to make certain we are not turning off some other functionality before we commit.

We just upgraded from SL 6.5 to SL 2011, and I am getting errors/messages in the ROI that I cannot explain.  The report is 08610 - AR Aging.  I moved our custom versions of the reports out of user reports - thinking maybe a custom version was the issue.  So we now be using only standard reports.  I deleted all the templates that came over in the upgrade to start fresh.  I made a new template that only does one thing - Selects the report version - Detail by Days Outstanding.  Now when I open the ROI, if I don't load the template, I can move freely between tabs (report, sort, select) without any errors.  And the report runs fine.

If I load my Template and go straight the select tab, everything is fine.  Nothing on the Select tab, but no messages.  BUT if I go to Sort Tab first AND MAKE NO CHANGES then go to Report or Select tab, I get this message box.  Top says Report Option Interpreter.  Then 'Do you want to apply your Sort Tab Criteria Modifications?(1) - Y/N'  I made no sort tab modifications.  This is all standard.

The report will run, but what does the message mean?

I set up a template for one customer ID.  It has Select criteria - vr_08610dp.custid = XXX.  I seem to be able to move freely between tabs with this template loaded - no errors.  As long as I have the standard reports in place.

If I put my custom reports back in user reports, the Days Outstanding Template behave the same way as it did with standard reports - if I go to sort then select, I get the question about applying my sort tab criteria modifications.

When I load my One Customer Template, I immediately get a new message box.  Header says ROI.  Message says "Error in populating the array of fields.  Possibly a syntax error in the ROISelect Formula.

The template works fine; we just have to click ok to that message.  I'm not sure what that message means either.  That select criteria should be fine.

Any ideas?  Thanks!

Lisa,

I have run into this same error in the past with screens created with the SL SDK (not quite the same as your issue) and found that the issue was resolved by checking if the Windows firewall is enabled on the server (not the workstation).  If so, I let sqlserver.exe through the firewall and the issue went away.

This is a bit of a long short for your situation but something you might want to look at.

AP Checks are Printing in reverse order

Is Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 SL70_SP4GA compatible with Microsoft SQL Server Standard 2008 R2 Service Pack 3? I am currently using Dynamics SL 7.0 SP4 with SQL Server Standard Edition 2008 R2 RTM with no service packs, and want to update to the latest SQL service pack that is compatible with my version of Dynamics SL. SL 2015 CU1 new installation crashes after company selection

Environment: MS SVR 2012 - SQL SVR 2014 - SL 2015 CU1

This is a brand new server staged for the upgrade / migration from SL 7sp4. No errors logged on SQL or SL install. No errors on upgrade migration scenarios from SL7 to SL 2015 an then to SL 2015CU1. WE are able to select sql db and SL system. We are able to enter SYSADMIN and pswd. We are able to select company and then the crash "Microsoft Dynamics SL has stopped working". Here are the problem details:

Hi Rick

Thanks for the response.  The windows firewall is enabled so I do not believe that, that is the problem. However, in doing some further research I realized that the vba code is what is giving some problems albeit on another screen.

I am getting some compilation errors after upgrading to 2015 and it is throwing the assertion error messages and system message 20217.

The below code worked fine in Dynamics 7.0 but for some reason it is not compiling in 2015 and it is pointing to "Dim CusType As CustomerType in the code as the error.

Coding is not my expertise, therefore could you throw some light on how to correct this code?  Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Hi

I have just recently upgraded to Dynamics SL 2015 and on clicking off a customized screen I kept getting an assertion failure with the exact message as below:

System Message 10232

Assertion failure

File: sqlodbc.cpp

Line 9014

 I am able to access the screen and run processes in standard mode, so it seems that the customization is the problem.  Therefore, I removed the customization from the CustomVBA table and recreated the customization but I am still getting the same error message.

Has anyone experienced the same and found a solution for this issue?

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
